Spring

The Wood Element

Growth and New Beginnings

Seasonal Energy

Spring is when we start to come out of hibernation. Our energy is rises. It’s a time for growth, planning and new beginnings and to be more energetic and flexible. Yoga poses that stretch upwards and sidewards to open the liver and gallbladder channels to help with the smooth flow of energy. Also cleansing poses to prepare for the year ahead. Meditations to help ‘spring clean’ the mind and sow seeds.

Meridians

The Liver meridian runs from the inside of the second toe over the top of the foot, up the shin and inside of the leg and up the front of the body ending just underneath the chest.

The Gall Bladder meridian runs from the front of ear up and around it then over the head to above the eyebrow then down and over the top of the shoulder, down the side of the body over the buttocks and down the side of the leg over the front of the ankle and ending on the fourth toe.

The main associations are with detoxing and decision making.
